On April 21st we have the pleasure of welcoming two engineers from Abbey Road Studios in London. Andrew Dudman and Paul Pritchard will be hosting an exclusive workshop at Abbey Road Institute Amsterdam.
Our students will be part of a bespoke guest lecture, then in the evening we’re delighted to host a public workshop which we welcome you to apply to participate in. Please be aware that spaces are limited!
Andrew Dudman has worked on many musicals, production library music and a wide range of computer games. He also does pop projects (Professor Green, Robbie Williams, Underworld, Elbow) as well as classical recordings both in the Studios and on the road with Abbey Road’s Mobile Unit. In 2014, Andrew was awarded the Pro Sound News – Engineer of the Year. Notably, he worked as Score Editor on the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, winning an MPSE Award for Fellowship of the Ring. He then received nominations for the same award for the Two Towers and Return of the King.
Paul Pritchard has worked as an assistant / pro tools engineer on a great number of projects across a wide range of genres. His credits include pop and rock sessions with, the Arctic Monkeys, Chas and Dave, Sting, Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, Sigur Ros, Take That, Birdy, Elbow. He has also done live studio sessions with Paolo Nutini, Alt J, Blondie; film music sessions for Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Les Mis, Unbroken, San Andreas; and classical sessions with Villazon/Pappano and the London Symphony Orchestra. Paul is also a sound engineer in his own right, recording the late great Jack Bruce’s album ‘silver Rails’ and Co engineering Kylie’s ‘The Abbey Road sessions’.
In this upcoming workshop, both Andrew and Paul will give insights into what it’s like working at Abbey Road Studios. The 1hr session is destined for those who are passionate about pursuing a career in this music industry. The workshop is free and will take place on Friday April 21st from 6pm until 7pm.
Since there is a limited number of places, applying is necessary and applicants will be hand picked. Interested in attending? Write a motivation letter in which you briefly explain why you would like to attend and how this workshop can benefit you in your career path. Email this letter to Milou Derksen before March 31st, and we will notify those who are selected by April 5th.
