Some say it’s the best sound experience ever, while others believe it’s the future of music. We are talking about immersive sound! How about we bring Morten Lindberg into the equation, and we tell you that he is going to do an exclusive masterclass in Amsterdam? Well… we just did and you have the chance to attend this masterclass at Abbey Road Institute, for free!
We’re delighted to announce that we have 20 times Grammy nominated producer and engineer Morten Lindberg coming over on Friday the 15th of September! We will host an exclusive masterclass by Morten for our students and in the evening we’re hosting a free public masterclass which we welcome you to participate in. Please be aware that spaces are limited!
Morten Lindberg is a Norwegian balance engineer and recording producer, and is Associate Professor at the Westerdals Oslo ACT. He is the founder of the production company Lyndberg Lyd AS and of the renowned record label 2L, which is specialised in high quality recordings of classical music, often recorded in concert halls and churches. The 2L record label has received 28 Grammy nominations, including 13 for Morten Lindberg himself in the Best Surround Sound Album category. Nominations have also been won in other classical fields such as Best Choral Performance and Best Engineered Album, Classical.
In this upcoming masterclass, Morten will be showing several microphone and recording techniques for recording in an immersive audio setup, and how he applies this in his core area of expertise: recording vocals, choirs and strings. The masterclass is destined for those who are passionate about pursuing a career in this music industry. And believe us, when you hear some of his productions on the newly implemented Auro-3D setup, it’s all about goosebumps. The masterclass is free and will take place on Friday September 15th from 7pm until 9pm.
Since there is a limited number of places, applying is necessary and applicants will be hand picked. Interested in attending? Write a short motivation email in which you briefly explain why you would like to attend and how this masterclass can benefit you in your career path. Email this motivation to Milou Derksen before September 12th, and we will notify those who are selected by September 13th.
