Recording to Tape & Open Day – September 2nd 2017

If this is going to be just another Open Day? Definitely not. This open day you get to be part of something most people probably never experienced before: Recording to analog tape!

These days, owning an analog tape machine is somewhat akin to driving a classic car, with less and less engineers that know how to handle and maintain them. The good news is that here at ARI Amsterdam we’ve got both the people and the gear, and not to forget the knowledge. On top of that we’re getting in one of Benelux’ best session drummers Jimmy van den Nieuwenhuizen to lay down drum tracks for some great songs.

Not to worry, at the same time you’ll really get to know Abbey Road Institute Amsterdam and this day gives you good insight into the Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering – as a full-time (1 year) and part-time (2 year) programme. You’ll have the chance to see students work in studio 2, to chat with them and to ask the staff and lecturers any questions you might have.

And why – or even if – drums sound so much better recorded on tape? Join us on Saturday 2nd of September between 13h00 and 17h00 to find out and decide for yourself!

How to get to Abbey Road Institute Amsterdam?
We are located within music center Q-Factory (address: Atlantisplein 1, Amsterdam), which is easily accessible by public transport or by car: the train station Amsterdam Muiderpoort is only 5 minutes walking distance; and there is a parking garage called Q-Park Oostpoort.
