A Milestone to Remember: Amsterdam Graduates Take the Stage at Abbey Road Studios

Twenty-eight graduates from Abbey Road Institute Amsterdam travelled to London in June 2026. They joined graduates from Paris, Miami, and London to celebrate together at the Global Graduation Ceremony at Abbey Road Studios. It was a proud and inspiring day for our graduates from both the full-time and part-time programmes.

The graduation ceremony was held on Monday, June 15, at the renowned Studio One. After welcoming remarks from Abbey Road officials and an inspiring video featuring congratulations and well-wishes from staff around the world, Director Jasper Derksen stepped forward to deliver an empowering speech and proudly present diplomas to all 28 graduates. The group represented many different countries. Throughout the day, everyone witnessed the strong friendships they had formed during their time at the Amsterdam Institute. Bonds that will remain with them for many years.

Studio One welcomed over 400 guests for this special occasion. Studio One is one of the most iconic recording rooms in the world. It has been used for classical music, major film scores like Star Wars and Harry Potter, and popular video games such as Halo and Final Fantasy. Standing in this historic room made the moment even more meaningful.

Stories from abbey road studios

Another highlight of the ceremony was a 30-minute string quartet performance and presentation called “Stories from the Studios.” They shared the history of Abbey Road Studios and played beautiful pieces from some of the most renowned classical recordings made there. This created a memorable moment for both graduates and their families. 

After the ceremony, the graduates went outside for a group photograph on the famous Abbey Road Studios steps.

Party at Night Tales

In the evening, everyone enjoyed the Global Graduation Party at Night Tales in Hackney. All the graduates from Amsterdam, Paris, London, Miami, their families and friends and staff from the institutes worldwide celebrated with music, food, and happy conversations.

Workshops at Abbey Road and Angel

On Tuesday 16 June and Wednesday 17 June, the graduates took part in professional recording workshops at Abbey Road Studios and Angel Studios. They worked with top engineers Ricky Damian and Paul Pritchard, and recorded with artist Josh Barry and the Pete Cater big band.

We are very proud of our Amsterdam Class of 2026. Their hard work, international friendships, and new skills have prepared them for a bright future in music. This day showed them that their dreams are possible.
