Our Creative Production Competition of Brika’s – ‘Gold’ – record is in full swing, and it’s your chance to put your own spin on this richly melodic track! The big winner not only gets an Universal Audio Apollo Twin Duo audio interface, but also a day in the studio with mix engineer Ronald Prent.
Are you however a bit lost in how to start remixing this track? No worries, help is on the way! Producer, Mastering engineer ánd Abbey Road Institute-teacher Marco Antonio Spaventi has been so kind to give us a hand in explaining how to get started with the stem files of Brika’s – ‘Gold’ – record.
In the videos, Marco shows what to do after you have downloaded the tracks. He demonstrates, by using Ableton, how to import the stem files, how to start remixing and some cool usable tips. The fact that Ableton is used in the video does not mean that you are required to use this software too. For your remix, you can use the digital audio workstation (DAW) you prefer working with!
So have a closer look at the ways and possibilities to use and remix the stems of Brika’s – “Gold” – record, and maybe even get a bit of inspiration while watching. And remember, in this competition, it is not about sound quality, but all about being creative!
Everyone has a fair shot, so show us what you got. Good luck!
