Matt Butler
Matt Butler is a producer, writer, arranger and engineer. He was the first in the U.K. to have a 24-bit Pro Tools rig and have a band on the studio floor with it! Matt, a legend himself, has worked with countless artists such as Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Mick Jagger, Dire Straits, and many more. He has also been the in-house engineer at AIR’s famous studio facility on Montserrat, running recording sessions by a who’s who of rock and pop.
We are very lucky and grateful to see Matt every year at Rockfield Studios, where he gives our students a full weekend recording masterclass. He makes sure a great band comes in for the sessions so he can discuss techniques, organization, set up and workflow. He wants to open students minds to what it takes to master the art of recording.
