We’re extremely proud of our first cohort of students who graduated in September in London and are now establishing themselves in the next stages of their careers. Scattered across the UK and Europe, in a range of different roles, from producers and engineers to undertaking internships, our alumni are working in studios and for a range of businesses in the music and cultural sectors.
Debbie recently secured a job at Metropolis Studios as a runner. Longer term: ‘My rather ambitious hope for the future is to be a music producer, in the Sylvia Massy sense, so anything that leads to that! I’ve also put my name down to volunteer at Music Producers’ Guild events, which will give me some experience in live AV work, and puts me in a room full of music producers, which can’t be a bad thing.
Within 6 months from graduating Gianluca has been working on a number of different projects. He started out at Fossil Studios before moving to take on projects at London’s renowned AIR Studios and Britannia Row Productions. His first couple of recording sessions at AIR were soundtracks for two upcoming films.
Since graduating Nash has been undertaking an internship at Denmark Street Studio, run by Guy Katsav, who also guest lectures at the Institute.
Chris is juggling two jobs, working both at Abbey Road Institute as a technician (a role we offer to one graduate each year) as well as at Sontronics, a microphone company as the product specialist. Alongside this Chris is working as a freelance audio engineer with plans to build his own studio in Dorset.
By day, you’re soaking in the knowledge of industry experts. By night, you practice what you’ve learnt in a playground of high-end studio equipment. What more could you possibly want?
Abbey Road Institute is not a school, it is a high end production studio with a control room full of learners.
When you come here, it’s all about being eager to learn, put in the time, and believe in what you do. Hard work pays off.
“Every day spent here felt like I was better than the day before. It is beautiful to think in colours, mix with flavours and develop a unique way to listen and understand music. Abbey Road is all about perspective and attitude, things which are taught so well between the magical walls of the institute“
From the moment I entered Abbey Road Institute Amsterdam it took me a total of 5 minutes to realise that I came to the right place. It has been one of the best experiences, meeting new friends for life from all over the world. You learn so, so much in just 1 year in an incredible environment, which has to be felt to understand.
